Single Mom’s Group
This past Sunday on the 24th of July we met at Mcguire Park from 1-5pm with our Single Moms and their kids. Thanks to all those that came out to volunteer to help with the kids. The kids had a blast going under the big pail that slowly fills up then dumps all it’s contents at once or squirting each other or sitting in the puddle of water that formed after the big pail dumped all its contents..
We met a new single mom with four children. Hope she comes back next month and continues to be a part of our small group.
The Single Moms got some of their needs met, with food that Linda brought, but it was the positive interactions that were important as thanks to the Sacred Heart Church through St Vincent De Pauls we were able to hand out flyers showing the participants where they could get other needs met as well as showing them how they could earn money each month by taking four courses a month from Single Moms University.
I even went in the water with the kids as it was extremely hot outside! It was so refreshing! Those that attended had a pizza party with watermelon and lemonade, as well as popcorn. A fun time was had by all!
Some earned a gift certificate for completing 4 courses of study from Single Mom’s University. All received Grace a gift certificate to help with the soaring inflation that is facing our nation and the world right now. Please keep our Single Mom’s in prayer as they try to raise their children and become godly parents.
Our next Single Mom’s meeting will be combined with Women’s Ministry to Host a Baby Shower for BriAnne one of our Single Moms on August 21st. at 1 pm-3 pm. Hopefully next time we will take pictures and include them until next time keep the Faith, spend time in Prayer and Bible study so we can look more and more like Jesus everyday! He is coming soon, He is just waiting for us to reach one more and surrender everything to Him so He can do what He has promised in Phil. 1:6 He that has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Christ Jesus!
